At Community for Heroes, we want to provide a hand up, not a handout to those in need.  We hope to provide at-risk Veterans with the opportunity to have a home to stay in while participating in education/job training with our community partners.

Mission Statement

  • To construct safe and affordable housing for at-risk and vulnerable veterans.

  • To reintegrate at-risk veterans back into the community.

  • To foster a means for our veterans to empower themselves and receive the respect they have earned by their military service.

Our Team
Joshua Pack 450h2.png
Joshua Pack

Joshua served in the United States Navy for 10 years doing several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. When he returned from Afghanistan he was diagnosed with PTSD and was soon after discharged from the Navy as he was unable to perform his regular functions.  He had the support of family and friends but soon felt he was a burden and ended up on the streets for a time before moving to Texas for a promising job that eventually moved him to Paducah, Kentucky.  Here Josh moved into a tiny house he had built on Wheels in the Duck Creek RV park off Exit 11.  This is where Josh found friendly faces and other Veterans who would eventually push him to get the help he needed.  This sense of “community” provided him by the Veteran residents in the Duck Creek RV park spawned the idea of what Community for Heroes is today.  His hope is that these communities can change others lives for the better like it did him.
